Deer Stalking
As part of our Deer Management Strategy we are able to offer paid stalking over open field and small woodland, both for beginners and the more experienced, near Milton Keynes, Newport Pagnell and Bedford in North Buckinghamshire
Beginners
For those who are just starting out on their deer stalking, we can offer guided stalks accompanied by an experienced DSC2 level Field Operative. If you do not possess your own rifle we can supply a .308 Estate rifle for a small extra cost.
For evening stalks we can check zero beforehand or familiarise yourselves with the estate rifle.
Please be aware that a good level of rifle skills are required to ensure that humane culling takes place.
Experienced
There is some interesting and challenging stalking for the more experienced, again under the watchful eye of an experienced Field Operative.
Witnessed Stalks
You will be accompanied by a Field Operative who is a former DSC2 Approved Witness.
I no longer offer witnessed stalks, but the stalk will include information and training for the progression to DSC2
Deer Species
We currently have two species resident on the land.
Chinese Water Deer, escapees from Woburn Safari Park. These are an interesting species. The Bucks do not have antlers, but have tusks Instead
Muntjac, once again an escapee, or introduced in some cases. They are now quite widespread through out the country. They provide some challenging stalking as they are always on the move. We have very few on this land, so are unlikely to be available on the day.
You may occasionally see a Roe.
Season: Chinese Water Deer -
1st November to 31st March
Muntjac - All Year
